Today is the anniversary of Henry Hudson discovering Delaware Bay. That is if one can be said to discover a place where there is already a thriving population of humans. Perhaps the title shouldn't read "discoverer of delaware bay, the hudson river, and hudson's bay" but instead read "captain of first expedition of non-viking and non-basque white people to poke around the northeast coast of north america".
Great discover, my ass. His crew eventually marooned him in Hudson's Bay. A fitting end.
