Ok since most of you visitors seem to be coming here to find out about fuel-air explosives i figured that i ought to give you a brief explanation of what they are.

they are an explosive made by mixing some fuel (usualy liquid or gas) with an amount of air(specific ratios vary by fuel and conditions) then igniting it. a very simple one can be made by taking a 55 galon hefty bag and waving it around until it is full of air, then opening just the acetylene valve of your torch into it for a few seconds. tie it off and get FAR away put ear plugs in and fire a flaming arrow through it. quite an impressive bang huh?

modern fae weapons usually contain some liquid fuel in a highly pressurised aerosol container. the aerosol is released just before the bomb achieves the target then a when the fuel air ratio is just right the fuse sets it off. our government claims now that we only use them in mine clearing and antistructure purposes. that wasn't always the case. they are one of the most effective and horrible antipersonnel weapons imaginable. you can see a spiffy demonstration here

there have been allegations of the Russians using fae's in Groszny as antipersonnel weapons. They are likely true. These weapons are a powerful psychological weapon. the first thing the the weapon does is suck all the oxygen from the surrounding area ,so as the following troops, you could show up to a scene where all you buddies in the center are just ash and all your buddies at the edge are just dead with no marks on them. spooky for sure.

The nature of the explosive tends to put it own fire out quickly, limiting collateral property damge. Incidentally a specially designed fae would be ideal for dealing with people in caves and tunnels. I mean, as long as we're throwing the geneva convention and rule of law out the window anyway.....

I am not sure why google rates me so highly when i spout off. I am in the top ten for fuel air bomb searches and it is doing wonders for my hits. but when i actually performed the search myself i saw the sites that i have pushed off the top ten. gotta love satire.
Hope you all enjoyed thanksgiving. I did. Which is a little unusual for me. I often have difficulty getting into the propper spirit to be thankful for the great wealth that is my life in the midst of preparations and complicated family gatherings and assorted crap that also comes with the thanksgiving event. Usually I can't achieve that moment of thanksgiving until we are finally home and the kids are in bed and the house is quiet.

This year was a little different. events around conspired to make it easy to remind just how wonderful my life is. Several of my friends have returned to the western new york area to live and while I didn't get to see them on thursday i did speak with most of them and have seen all of them in the last week or so. one of mt friends who lives far away came home last weekend to see me. my wife and kids are safe, happy and well fed. the thanksgiving dinners were organized in such a manner as i got to spend time with those relatives that I like and had to spend little with those that i don't. my children didn't break anyone's nose or anything like that. the weather couldn't possibly have been better. the freezer is full of venison.

Honestly, I am a little embarassed about how easy it is to be thankful this year. But don't take that for ungrateful.

Opening day of Deer season and I find myself partaking of an eight-point buck weighing in over two hundred pounds. The coolest part is I didn't even put the slug barrel on my gun.

Last night, just before midnight I got the call: "hey I need you to come help me gut and skin a deer." Usually when i get this kind of call in the middle of the night it's to butcher a deer completely and ger everything cleaned up before light and the neighbors might notice and rat out to the DEC. In this case it was an entirely different deal. someone hit this beastie right in front of my brother. He gladly took the tag the sherriff issued and called me up.
as it turns out the poor bastard was very uncooperative about getting his skin off. I'm thinking if I do this much more often I am gonna have to make a good skinner. His starboard quarter took the force of the bimbobox (and incidentally did some fairly serious harm to the minivan too), so it appears to be good for nothing but sausage or dog food. but the rest of him is prime jerky just waiting to be made.

Cnn.com leads with the headline "like a bomb exploded" You read further into the article to find that the quote comes from a person on the ground describing the secondary explosion after the plane hit the ground. I hate journalists. at least I hate this type of journalist. my little sister is a journalist. I don't hate her.

here's my headline.

Nine Out of Ten Experts Agree on Explosions

Most experts familiar with fuel air bombs agree that they sound remarkably like a plane crash when the actually explode. Several of the experts went on to describe the similarity in design between long range jet planes and fuel air bombs. none of the experts would go on the record as specificall recommending against the continued use of this type of aircraft but did mention that this type remained a risk whenever you auger one of these planes into the ground.

Dumbass journalist. of course it sounded like a bomb going off. I want to know who on the ground was hurt. If that is the best headline you can send in on short notice why don't you skip it and do something useful like drive a truck full of foam out to Rockaway.

Here in the united states we have plenty of food and really if you look at the numbers we hardly ever kill each other. here we think of lapis lazuli as a gemstone and make small bits of jewelry out of it. In afghanistan they could grow food if they would just stop killing each other, and they build mosques out of lapis lazuli.

psst never mind the spelling error I don't proof this. do you? what the hell is wrong with you?
every now and then something from my referrals makes me happy and proud
Seventeenth century poetry from Afghanistan. Somehow this still makes sense today.

The email address that I link here is one i mostly use to collect spam. If I need to download something from someplace and they have one of those bullshit setups where you have to give a live email this is the one i use. I check at least a couple times each month to see if anybody has emailed me from the site. it rarely happens. I do get my share of spam from my site and god knows what else. For the most part I will look at the sender and subject line. but I admit sometimes i just empty the whole damn mailbox. I actually looked at the body of one of the spam pieces in there today just because what it purported to offer was so ludicrous and so obviously preying on prurient interest that I just had to look at the text.

Indeed what they were offering was so unlikely and yet so positively attractive. at least attractive in the senses that a trainwreck is attractive. you know you don't want to look you know it's bad to look but at the same time there is no human way possible not to look.

Yes indeed, they were offering what every red blooded male in the entire United States of America wants to see.

Totally nude photos of all 4 of Bin Laden?s wives in a
lesbian love pile!

yes indeed. marketing in action folks.

Halloween came and went without the traditional bacchanalia and debauchery. I took my boys trick or treating at a few houses of friends and family, came home and made mahimahi(dolphin, dorado, etc.) steaks and enjoyed them with my wife and one other friend. Made jerky in my new dehydrator. Then I turned thirty.

not a bad birthday at all, really. but still no bacchanalia either. That requires an absence of children and just the right mix of friends and alcohol. Someone once told me acquaintances are poeple who won't walk up to the edge with you, friends are poeple who will, and good friends are people who will walk right up to the edge let you look over and yank you back by your hair just before you fall. I haven't had that kind of party in a long time

The senate has just passed the USA PATRIOT act. It now has only to be signed by our feckless leader to become law. Bad, undermining the bill of rights, kneejerk, jackbooted thug law. I would like you to think not just about what power we the people just gave over to our federal government, but also think about Who we just gave those reins of power to. Ashcroft differs from the Taliban only in degree and power. And now he has more power. I invite you to read carefully the text of his speech today after the senate passed this monstrosity. Write off the fourth, part of the fifth, a good chunk of the first, and some of the sixth ammendments to the Constitution of the United States.
Since I've been unemployed recently I've taken to wearing my old standby of jeans and a black pocketT damn near every day.

That and I've been listening to Johnny Cash quite a bit. Maybe too much my wife thinks

look at the date on this one. 1971. not much has changed has it?

Man In Black

Well, you
wonder why I always dress in black,
Why you never see bright colors on my back,
And why does my appearance seem to have a somber tone.
Well, there's a reason for the things that I have on.
I wear the
black for the poor and the beaten down,
Livin' in the hopeless, hungry side of town,
I wear it for the prisoner who has long paid for his
crime,
But is there because he's a victim of the times.
I wear the
black for those who never read,
Or listened to the words that Jesus said,
About the road to happiness through love and charity,
Why, you'd think He's talking straight to you and me.
Well, we're
doin' mighty fine, I do suppose,
In our streak of lightnin' cars and fancy clothes,
But just so we're reminded of the ones who are held back,
Up front there ought 'a be a Man In Black.
I wear it for
the sick and lonely old,
For the reckless ones whose bad trip left them cold,
I wear the black in mournin' for the lives that could
have been,
Each week we lose a hundred fine young men.
And, I wear
it for the thousands who have died,
Believen' that the Lord was on their side,
I wear it for another hundred thousand who have died,
Believen' that we all were on their side.
Well, there's
things that never will be right I know,
And things need changin' everywhere you go,
But 'til we start to make a move to make a few things
right,
You'll never see me wear a suit of white.
Ah, I'd love
to wear a rainbow every day,
And tell the world that everything's OK,
But I'll try to carry off a little darkness on my back,
'Till things are brighter, I'm the Man In Black.

This may be the craziest/best idea I have heard yet. Congress hasn't issued a letter of marque in slightly less that two centuries(that whole issue with the barbary pirates). But what an interesting idea.

leave our soldiers out of it. leave the cia and the rest of the spooks out of it. bring back the privateers. When i was eight I dreamed with my best friend of growing up to be a privateer. We had it all figured out.

Anyone know what a used c-130 goes for these days? I'd like a combat talon version but I want it rigged for the jato bottles like the navy uses for launching off carriers. and one of those kiowas that fit in the cargo bay of the herc. hmmmm I've got a few calls to make.

on why you should never read your referrals

according to google I am the number two expert in the world on Killing yourself with framing nailer.

boys and girls while this is probably possible I really don't recomend it. If you're serious and really want to do it I would really recommend the drug overdose. but first make sure all the other options won't work. Spend some time with a couple different professional counselling type people (psychiatrist, priest, witch doctor, that sort of thing) before you commit to anything so permanent.

If the issue is just that you are a menace to dociety and shouldn't breed, then you should also consider the possibility of having yourself rendered surgically sterile.

for what my two cents are worth
